Biogas water treatment plants

In 2022, Dordtech was selected through a public tender as the supplier of 3x 500kW(e) biogas CHP's (combined heat and power) for the water authorities.

Water treatment plants utilize the sludge residue in a digester to generate biogas. This biogas is then (after treatment) used in the CHP, so the plant is provided with their own electricity. In addition, the heat from the CHP is used to heat the utility buildings and to keep the digesting process going.

The water authorities "Waterschap Brabantse Delta" was searching for a solution for two of their locations, where the existing CHP's needed to be replaced.because of age and running hours. The Guascor Energy G-24HM (formerly Siemens) gensets complied to the stringent efficiency and reliability standards and together with our integrated exhaust gas cleaner, it was the reason that Dordtech was selected as supplier.

By installing our very own exhaust gas cleaner, the impact on the environment has become way less compared to the previous situation. This way, the water authorities gained room in their nitrogen permit, which gives them room to expand their activities in the future.
