Guascor Energy has for many years been one of our main partners and supplier of the generator sets on which we base our CHPs. Its main location is in the north of Spain, Zumaia, where the company was founded in 1966. Since then, the company has grown into a global supplier of gas and diesel engines for applications in power plants, cogeneration, waste treatment and marine drives, among others.
Over time, the company has been continuously innovating, with the highlights being the availability of engines running on syngas and (partially) hydrogen since 2001. Also, since 2017, the most efficient 2MW(e) generator set has been launched, showing the highest efficiency in its class.
Dordtech uses a number of different generator sets from Guascor Energy, for different applications.
- The SL/SM-series mainly finds its application within special gases such as syngas, pyrolysis gas and hydrogen.
- The HM-Series is an excellent choice for various natural gas and biogas applications.
- The EM series is a unique generator set with a particularly high efficiency and is mainly used in greenhouses or industry.
Product series
SL-series is mainly suitable for cogeneration based on various types of gas. Among other things, the lower compression ratio provides a tolerant generator set, which is ideally suited for low-calorific gases such as landfill gas, sewage gas, syngas etc.

HM-series is particularly flexible to use and suitable for both biogas and natural gas. The proven technology ensures low maintenance costs and an efficient generator set.

EM-series is the latest development in the field of generator sets. With its 86-liter, 12-cylinder design, it is an extremely compact machine and has the smallest footprint in its class. In addition, it features a pre-chamber ignition, which is one of the reasons for its very high electrical efficiency.
